Updated on October 22, 2011 Paradise7 extra Haunted Places in New York, Part 2
Hiya once more, and welcome back to our scary ride by way of Haunted New York. Hold on tight, we’re in for a fright!
Buffalo, NY Naval Serviceman’s Park
The USS Sullivan is haunted by George, who died in World Conflict II. He is in search of his younger brothers, who additionally served. He roams the ship at night, calling out for his brothers, haunted and haunting. There is a photograph of all 5 brothers; George’s face is only a white blur. One of many SPOOKIEST haunted New York tales, for my cash!
Clymer, NY Jaquin’s Pond
That is an area with a couple of bumpy dirt roads, principally swamp. There are three bridges main over the swamp and into the woods. The bridges are haunted by a school bus driver who killed himself after a boy died in an accident involving his bus. For those who cease on the third bridge, by the abandoned waterworks, and say the boy’s identify 3 times, the school bus driver will seem and your automobile doors will lock robotically. Right here the highway forks into the “Gentle Path”-main out of the swamp and onto the main freeway; and the “Darkish Path”, main into the timber. Several teenagers have dedicated suicide on the “Darkish Path”. Do not go there late at night time, particularly if you’re a teenager! (Haunted New York, at it is best…and WORST!)
East Bethany, NY The Lyndon Tracks
A school bus full of children were struck by a practice and died on the anorak stone island Lyndon tracks. If you happen to cease on the tracks, the youngsters will seem and push you Stone Island Sale off. This is near my hometown, and that i’ve heard this story in a number of alternative ways. I actually imagine there’s fact in it.
Elmira Elmira School, Cowles Hall
Lights float down the halls late at night, with nobody close to. Even campus security personnel won’t go into this building alone. There’s a really unusual ambiance at night in here. The constructing is split down the center–there’s an evil side and a great facet, and beware the man or woman who walks down the darkish side, alone and after nightfall!
Hannibal- The Hannibal Graveyard in the City of Hannibal
There are many reviews of unusual balls of mild, moving round in the graveyard after midnight.
Huntington–Mount Misery (West Hills Park)
In the 1840s there was a hospital on this site. It burned down, and a couple of decade later, was rebuilt, only to burn down again inside 5 months of its re-opening. The site is now a state park, however folks still hear cries for assist and see burning spectres in this area. This can be one of the haunted places in New York State, although not very well-known.
Little Falls, NY Beardslee Castle
Beardslee Castle is a replica of an Irish castle in-built 1860. It is now a restaurant. It attracts many guests, some of whom are ghost hunters. Within the early 1950s, cars traveling down Route 5 reported blue or yellow lights that rushed out at them from the timber surrounding the castle, and chased them down the road. The lights have been blinding; and several fatal accidents resulted. Sometimes the lights hover within the bushes.
Different drivers see a younger little one strolling down the road late at night.
The haunting is the ghost of Mr. Beardslee, the builder and former owner of the castle, who is strolling with a blue lantern, looking for his misplaced baby, who wandering into the woods and was never discovered.
Others have seen the lantern floating on its own within the grounds behind the castle.
Lockport-Chilly Springs Cemetery
A younger lady who was hitchhiking was abducted, taken to the cemetery, and murdered. Her ghost nonetheless walks the spot.
Long Island-Stony Brook-Mary’s Grave
There are all sorts of tales, depending on who you speak to. I am sticking with the most chilling one, just for you.
Mary was the one daughter of a wealthy and eccentric gentleman, who also had a son. They lived alone, just the three of them, and have been very aloof from their neighbors. Mary’s father built her a playhouse, or clubhouse, product of stone. Mary had no human pals, however for a very long time, she made associates with the animals in the surrounding woods, inviting them for tea events in her clubhouse, and retaining many animals as pets. Her buddies had been raccoons and squirrels and chipmunks, and she played with them. A few of them she rescued once they had been babies. When Mary came to the clubhouse, all her favorite animals would come out to play.
Mary was taken over by an evil spirit. She enticed all her animal friends into the playhouse, and killed them gruesomely. She went into the house and killed her father and brother with an axe. After quite a while, the townspeople went to see what occurred to their rich neighbor, and located Mary, asleep in her father’s bed, her father mendacity subsequent to her coated in blood.
Though Mary’s grave site is misplaced now, the story has it that her grave had a delivery date and no death date, for she still walks, possessed.
The remants of her stone playhouse are still extant-however I would not go there, if I had been you. Not if you worth your sanity! Those evil spirits nonetheless haunt the spot. That is one “Haunted New York” story that can stay with me for life.
Mahopac, Carmel, NY-The Sedgewood Membership
Shades of “The Shining”! The Sedgewood Club was a summer resort for the wealthy in 1887, who made the annual escape from New York to the cool mountain air. Within the winter, a sole caretaker and his family inhabited this lovely mansion. They have been snowed in one winter, and could not get out. All of them starved to loss of life. The caretaker walks, mourning his family nonetheless.
Plattsburgh-The Plattsburgh Air Power Base-The Outdated Gym
Through the war of 1812, this was the positioning of the morgue for mangled physique elements, that could not be matched as much as their former house owners.
People understanding within the gym hear screams within the evening, and pounding on the doors of the outdated morgue, as though these limbs had risen and needed out to look for their house owners.
Smithtown-The field at the top of the Bow
There is a pond in this area, about twelve toes deep in the center. A few years in the past, a small boy taking part in ice hockey fell through into the deepest part of the pond. His body was never recovered, and he was never seen once more. But sometimes now people see a lonely little hockey player out on the ice when the pond is frozen over on a dark winter night. They name out to him, and he disappears into the ice.

Not that I’ve found. I went searching for the spot at some point, and received instructions from a farmer’s spouse round there. It is hard to pinpoint exactly because Lydon is not on the map anymore. I can’t offer you, like, Mapquest instructions or anything. Ask around–the people round there have all heard the story and might direct you.
